
Bucharest, 11 December 2008 - On 1 December 2008 Sanoma Hearst Romania has launched National Geographic Traveler, the most read traveling magazine in the world. National Geographic Traveler Romania becomes the 14th international edition of the magazine which has, at present, an audience of over 7,900,000 readers worldwide.
National Geographic Traveler is the traveling magazine of National Geographic Society, the biggest educational and scientific non-profit society in the world. National Geographic Traveler Romania has 124 pages and will be published bi-annually in 2009, and quarterly from 2010 onwards. The magazine is the biggest travel magazine in Romania with a print run of 20,000 copies and a cover price of 10 RON.
"Since 1984, when National Geographic Traveler was created, the magazine inspires readers to travel simple and intelligently. We target travelers wanting to see the world. Each page is created in order to make you pack your bags and to give you the practical instruments and information that you need to get around", says Catalin Gruia, Editor in Chief of National Geographic Traveler and deputy Editor in Chief if National Geographic, "If you feel inspired, Traveler is your magazine and we will travel around the world together."
The launch will be supported with print, radio and online advertising with a 2 months campaign, like advertisements in magazines and newspapers, commercials on radio stations and sms messages to 50,000 telephone numbers.
