Sanoma Budapest acquires share in HáziPatika.com Group

Budapest, 21 January 2010 - Sanoma Budapest has acquired a 50% share in the HáziPatika.com Group and is set to acquire the remaining half in 2011. With this acquisition, Sanoma Budapest's media portfolio now covers a full range of health information.

Sanoma Budapest has a significant market share in digital media and magazines aimed at women. It is a strategic objective to emphasise health-related topics in the business portfolio. With the acquisition of the HáziPatika.com Group, Hungary's most visited healthcare website Hazipatika.com will now be managed by Sanoma Budapest. Other websites from the acquired Group are Babaszoba.hu, a specialised website for parents with babies, 50plusz.hu, the first health-related website for elderly people in Hungary, and Egeszsegbolt.hu, which is a Hungarian webshop. All websites from the Házipatika.com Group offer accurate professional information and advice supported by over 60 physicians.

The HáziPatika.com Group was founded more than 10 years ago. Hazipatika.com, the Group's leading website, offers health and lifestyle related content and services since 1999. The site has approximately 700,000 unique users every month and provides reliable, easy-to-understand information about 40 different topics in more than 3,700 articles, as well as a variety of different tests and health calculators.
