Hoofddorp, 25 September 2007 – From today onwards, Sanoma Uitgevers' editorial teams have a new and innovative tool to enhance dialogue with consumers. The user generated content platform Maakjezo.nl is launched during the Cross Media Week.
Changes in the field of media are numerous and far-reaching. Because of the strong position of Sanoma Uitgevers in both print as well as online (through ilse media amongst others) the company has a unique position to combine those media. To do this, the company has developed a strategy called "Sanoma360" with the objective to act upon new developments quicker and irrespective of the type of media. Part of Sanoma360 is that the company will put the consumer in a central position in all respects. The company will develop relevant information services, and only after this it will assess which media should or could come into play. Maakjezo.nl is a single element of the Sanoma 360 strategy, but concrete proof of its operationalisation.
On Maakjezo.nl visitors can find step-by-step instructions for all kinds of things that they can make themselves. Maakjezo's are made by anyone who is willing to share his or her instructions with the rest of the visitors.
"With Maakjezo.nl Sanoma Uitgevers is ahead in the development to use what we now call 'user generated content' through online platforms in magazines as well", says Michiel Kroeks, Online Publisher. "Some Sanoma print titles are participating and in 2008 we will publish specials and thematic magazines based on Maakjezo.nl's user generated content."
"Maakjezo.nl is a platform through which we give tools to consumers as well as to editorial teams," says Paul Molenaar, COO Online and Media Innovation. "Tools to create content in new ways or to react to it. To enable a dialogue between editorial teams and consumers in yet another way." About Sanoma Uitgevers
