Jessica Haagmans announces her resignation

Amsterdam, 12 June 2006 – Jessica Haagmans, Chief Operations Officer of Sanoma Uitgevers, announces her resignation.

Ms Haagmans, who fulfilled the role of interim CEO of Sanoma Uitgevers during the past eight months, will leave the organization with effect from August 1 2006. She will be available to hand over her responsibilities to Dick Molman, who was recently appointed as CEO of Sanoma Uitgevers. Mr Molman will start in his position August 1.

After holding different management and board positions within media production house IdtV for ten years, a former subsidiary of VNU, Ms Haagmans worked as a board member at Sanoma Uitgevers for seven years. Ms Haagmans explained that she wishes to pursue her career outside Sanoma Uitgevers: “With great pleasure I look back at my years at Sanoma Uitgevers, especially at the eights months that I was responsible for Sanoma Uitgevers. Leaving the organization was not an easy decision. But once you have had the highest responsibility, you cannot go back. I wish Dick every success in his new position.”

Eija Ailasmaa, CEO of Sanoma Magazines: “I regret but respect the decision of Ms Haagmans and I thank her for her efforts for the organization.”
