Gijs Vollaers to succeed Henk Borst as Sales Director

Hoofddorp, 21 juni 2010 – Sales Director Henk Borst is leaving Sanoma Uitgevers by the end of this year. Gijs Vollaers, currently Sales Manager Women, will succeed Henk Borst formally on 1 November 2010. Henk Borst will gradually transfer his work in the coming months and end his three-year interim period.

COO Print Henk Scheenstra comments that Henk Borst has structured the sales organisation and brought it into calmer waters. Indicated by Borst, they agree that it is time to transfer Borst's responsibilities. Gijs Vollaers, employed by Sanoma Uitgevers since 2005, is ready to become Sales Director and continue to work on a stable position of Sanoma Uitgevers in the advertising market.

Gijs Vollaers has been Sales Manager at Sanoma Uitgevers for five years. Before his current position he worked for several digital publishers, of which two years at Lycos as Sales Director. He started his sales career as one of the founders of the non-spot department of TV producer IDTV. Vollaers intends to build on Henk Borst's efforts to increase the market focus of Sanoma Uitgevers' sales organisation and continue to become more open. He also hopes to be able to use his broad media experience for a cross media future built on Sanoma Uitgevers' big brands.
